Sealcoating & Crack Filling in Nanaimo

Nanaimo Paving seals driveways and fills cracks across Nanaimo, Departure Bay and Nanoose Bay. A driveway of 400 to 600 square feet comes to $200 to $450, and we treat the cracks and seal the surface in the same visit.

What sealcoating does
A sealcoat is a thin protective coat over the top of your existing asphalt. It puts the colour back and gives the surface something to wear instead of the asphalt itself. It is a surface treatment, not a repair — it will not carry a hole or hold a broken edge together.
Crack filling comes first
We fill the cracks before anything is sealed. An open crack lets water down to the base, so we close them first. The filler goes in, the surface is cleaned, and the seal goes over the whole lot afterwards.
When your driveway is past sealing
Sealcoating suits a driveway that is sound but greying and starting to show fine cracks. Once the surface has broken through, or the cracks are wide and following each other in a pattern, a seal will not hold it and an overlay is the better spend. We tell you which you have when we look at it.
How a sealcoat visit goes

We look at the surface — we check whether your driveway is a sealing job or has gone past that, and say which.

We quote it in writing — one price covering the crack filling and the seal together.

We clean and fill — the surface is swept and cleaned, then every crack is filled and levelled off.

We seal the surface — the sealcoat goes over the whole driveway, edge to edge, and we tidy up behind us.
What does the ground around Nanaimo change?
The driveways that come to us for sealing are usually the ones laid within the last decade or so around North Nanaimo and Departure Bay — still sound, but greying and starting to open up at the surface. Older rural drives in Cedar are more often past sealing and ready for an overlay.
